Currently the DogZone is looking to fill a Dog Handler postion to begin work immediately. The position will be full-time (30-35 hrs p/wk). Shifts are Monday-Friday and require availability for both opening (6:30am) and closing (6pm). Staff may be required to work a special function on a weekend occasionally. The Dogzone is looking for applicants who are passionate about dogs and are serious about working with them and willing to commit to a position within the company. Interested applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, have a good understanding of basic pack behavior and possess a strong ability to remain calm and assertive when dealing with high energy-driven canines. Staff responsibilities include, management of play groups, feeding and watering, dog clean-up, first aid, introduction of new dogs, learning and understand dog/pack behavior and how to be a "pack leader". Staff will be expected to get to know all our canine clients by name and be able to assess their individual behaviors. Further duties including, general cleaning of dog equipment and toys and interior and exterior play areas. Staff are able to bring their dog to work as long as they meet our requirements. The DogZone canine clients are our #1 priority and we expect that every person interested in working here understands the importance of providing our dogs with a safe, clean & happy place to play.
